I can search for and if found copy Virginia obituaries for you from the years 1900-2007.
I search for obituaries from the newspapers of the cities of: Richmond, Petersburg, Norfolk, Charlottesville, Danville, Fredericksburg, Lynchburg, Roanoke, Farmville, Bristol, Waynesboro & Washington, D. C. also I can check to see if LVA has papers available for counties and other towns on microfilms, they have some, but not all years. Some counties papers I know of that are available for various years: Alleghany, Appomattox, Bedford, Charlotte, Culpeper, Fairfax, Fauquier, Franklin, Greene, Halifax, Lee, Nottoway, Page, Pulaski, Radford, Rockbridge, Smyth, Spotsylvania, Tazewell, Washington, Wise and more, there are newspapers on films at LVA for most counties, but sometimes there are very scattered years.
Now the Richmond newspapers from 1900 to the 1950's would often have obituaries from other parts of Virginia. Particularly the older papers. So they are not just Richmond city obits at all in the older ones.
I need you to send me the following information in order to find the obituary and copy it for you: 1. name of the deceased 2. place of death, town, city or county 3. the exact date of death or burial or at least the month and year of death.
The cost right now is a flat search fee of $10.00 per search as long as you know either the exact date of death or burial or at least the month and year of death. This fee includes my time, the copy and postage. The cost is still $10.00, whether the obit(s) is found or not. Payment is now being asked for in advance, this is due to non-payment by some people and sometimes I have lost a lot of money doing the work in advance paying for copies and postage with no payment ever sent. not to mention not getting recompensed for my time and effort .
You may ask for up to 10 obituaries a month. Please give me up to 1 month to get back to you with the results of the search.
I am not responsible if something may get lost in the mail. I keep the postal receipts with places and zip codes of where items have been sent. Fortunately nothing ever has been lost in the mails so far!
If you want to request My name is Beth and I thank you. |
