                           Miss Mary Ann Garner.
FREDERICKSBURG, VA., October 6.-Miss Mary Ann Garner, a well known lady of Stafford county, died yesterday at her home in that county, after a brief illness, aged eighty-two years. She is survived by one sister and several nephews and nieces.

                                     HE DIED IN A CAR.
Mr. John Goodwin, of Louisa, Passed Away En Route to a Hospital.
Mr. John Goodwin, of Louisa county, who came here for treatment at one of the hospitals, died in a cab yesterday morning while en route from the depot to the hospital.
For several days Mr. Goodwin had been under suffering with painful internal trouble, and was brought to Richmond by his physician, Dr. H. W. Porter, for an operation.
He grew worse on the train from Louisa, and died a few minutes after reaching the city. Undertaker Christian took charge of the body and prepared it for burial, and it was sent back to Louisa at 10:30 o'clock last night.

                                  MRS. J. LA LUCE GUY.
Mrs. J. La Luce Guy, widow of E. E. Guy, died early yesterday morning at her residence, 36 Brown street, after a protracted illness. The deceased was 60 years of age, and was a daughter of the late John W. Brown of Hampton. She is survived by the following children: Mrs. H. S. Nichols, E. L. Guy, Lee S. Guy, C. C. Guy, Louis E. Guy, J. R. Guy, Norman Guy and Mrs. I. S. Walker. She also leaves three sisters-Mrs. James R. Guy, Mrs. H. C. Dodson and Mrs. Childs. The funeral will take place today at 11 o'clock from the Freemason Street Baptist church, the Rev. Dr. Sparks Melton officiating.

COVINGTON, VA., March 10.-Mrs. George H. Gross, 70, died at her home near Hot Springs, Va., Saturday afternoon about 6 o'clock. Mrs. Gross, who was reared in Bath County, is survived by her husband and three daughters.

WARRENTON, VA., March 20.-Mrs. Mary E. Grayson, 73, died at her home at New Baltimore, near here last night. She is the widow of George W. Grayson and a daughter of the late John L. Brady, of Scottsville, Va. the funeral services will be held from the home Thursday afternoon. She is survived by four children, Mrs. Thomas S. Allison, of Long Island; O. D. Grayson, of Arkansas, T. K. Grayson and John H. Grayson, of Warrenton.

The death of Mr. John F. Gaines occurred yesterday at the Retreat for the Sick. He was in his seventy-seventh year.
The funeral will be private. Interment will be made in Hanover county.

                                           Charles Gibbs.
NORFOLK, VA., May 21.-Mr. Charles Gibbs, a business man of special prominence at Berkley, was buried to-day. He died suddenly about midnight on Saturday, being attacked by congestion of the lungs but a few hours before, and was not believed to be seriously ill. He was a member of the Masonic fraternity of the Royal Arcanum and Knights of Pythias, in each of which he held high office.
He was 61 years of age, two sisters, Mrs. Robert Wyatt and Mrs. Floyd N. Nottingham, of Northumberland county, Eastern Shore; a brother, Mr. John T. Gibbs, of Norfolk; his wife and four children, Mrs. W. B. Daugherty, and Messrs. John M. and C. B. Gibbs, survive him.

                                      John A. B. Gordon.
FREDERICKSBURG, VA., Dec. 20.-Mr. John A. B. Gordon, a prominent citizen of Spotsylvania county, died last night at his home near Sunlight, of rheumatism of the heart, aged sixty-one years. He was a Confederate soldier and formerly resided in this city. A numhber of his relatives now reside here. He is survived by his widow, three children, four sisters and two brothers.

                                      Funeral of Mrs. Gibboney.
Wytheville, Va., January 24.-The funeral services of Mrs. Mary Bell Gibboney, who died in Richmond on Sunday, were conducted by Rev. Father O'Connell this morning at 10 o'clock at St. Mary's Catholic Church, and the interment was in the cemetery of the church. Mrs. Gibboney was a native of Wythe county, and for many years a resident of Wytheville.

GRESHAM--Died, at her residence, 2417 Park Avenue, at twenty minutes past 1 o'clock this morning, MRS. R. H. GRESHAM. Her children, most of whom have been summoned, were nearly all together at her bedside. Mrs. Gresham was sixty-five years old, and leaves a husband and eight children, who are: Messrs. Wilbur M. Gresham, Allwyn S. Gresham, John T. Gresham, Proctor H. Gresham, Mrs. Robert Shelton, Miss Kilby Turner, Mrs. John Rhea and Ruby Gresham. Her brothers are Thomas E. Stagg and Zack M. Stagg, and one sister, Mrs. Leslie Powell.

                               Mrs. Ritchie Glazebrook.
  Mrs. Mary Denoon Glazebrook, wife of Ritchie Glazebrook, died yesterday afternoon in her home, 604 North Eighth street. Her funeral will take place tomorrow morning at 10 o'clock from St. Mary's Catholic church. The burial will be in Hollywood. Mrs. Glazebrook is survived by Mr. Glazebrook, one daughter, Miss Elizabeth Glazebrook; a sister, Miss Bettie Denoon, and one brother, Richard Denoon.

Funeral services for Mrs. Isabella Graham, wife of Richard Graham, were conducted this morning at 10 o'clock in St. Peter's Catholic church, Eighth and Grace streets. Besides Mr. Graham, she is survived by one brother, Felix Keegan, of RICHMOND, four daughters--Mrs. E. P. Kirby, of Ossining, N. Y.; Miss Theresa F. Graham, of Peaksville, N. Y., and Misses Isabella and Mary Graham, of RICHMOND; and one son, John M. Graham, also fo this city. Mrs. Graham died in her house, 716 Montrose avenue, Barton Heights.

Danville, Va., March 18.--Miss Lelia Glenn died at the home of her father, W. R. Glenn, here this afternoon, following along illness. She was a member of the Keen Street Church, and beside her father, leaves two half-brothers, Floyd and Walter Glenn. The funeral will be conducted from the residence to-morrow.

Mrs. Polly Overton Gilliam, 88, widow of John Gilliam, died today at her late home, Prospect Hill, Louisa county. Hour of the funeral will be announced later. Mrs. Gillam was a daughter of the late William Overton and Mrs. Martha Gilliam Overton and was widely related among old and prominent families in this state.

BOWLING GREEN, VA., Dec. 17.--Miss Frances W. Glassell, 82, daughter of the late Dr. Andrew W. Glassell, after an illness of several weeks, died at her home here on Tuesday morning.
She is survived by a brother, Dr. Robert T. Glassell; three sisters, Misses Eugenia, Ada, and Louise H. Glassell, of this place; three nieces, Mrs. Richard L. Beale, of this place; Mrs. Claude Clarke, of Norfolk, and Mrs. Beattie, of Old Church. Funeral services were conducted from her residence this afternoon by Rev. L. M. Ritter, and interment was in Lakewood cemetery.

                                         Mrs. Alice Stine Glaize.
WINCHESTER, VA., June 2.-Mrs. Alice Stine Glaize, widow of Geo. F. Glaize and mother of Fred L. Glaize, a Winchester business man, died today after being an invalid from paralysis for twenty-eight years. She was sixty years old and a daughter of the late Henry Stine. Her son, two brothers and four sisters survive her.

                                   Mrs. Horace D. Guerrant.
DANVILLE, VA., June 2.-Mrs. Horace D. Guerrant died last night at her home here after a long illness. She was about fifty years of age and had made her home here for many years. early in life Mrs. Guerrant connected herself with the Methodist Church, and was an active worker in the Mount Vernon Church. She is survived by her husband and two sons, Harry P. Guerrant, of Richmond, and Charlie B. Guerrant, of Danville, and one brother, J. Mac Smith, of Danville. She was an aunt of A. R. Holderby, of Richmond.
The funeral services will be conducted to-morrow afternoon at 5 o'clock from the Mount Vernon Church, and interment will be made in Green Hill Cemetery.

                   Dr. Guerrant, Horticulturist, Dies at Home                      
ROCKY MOUNT--Dr. Samuel S. Guerrant, orchardist and one of Franklin County's largest land owners, died at his home near Callaway Monday after an illness of several days.
Dr. Guerrant was a former president of the Virginia State Horticultural Society and for years had devoted a great deal of his engergies to perfecting apple strains that have become nationally known. A Franklin County native, he had lived at his present home except for a brief time whie practicing medicine elsewhere and on occasions when he traveled abroad. 
At the time of his death, Dr. Guerrant was chairman of the Franklin County School Trustee Electoral Board.
Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Harriet Dennison Guerrant, and the following children: Mrs. John S. Hale of Upland, Cal.; Mrs. W. I. Heile of Exeter, N. H.; Miss Helen Guerrant, Miss Mary Ingles Guerrant and Robert S., William H., Richard, Peter M., John L. and Saunders Guerrant.
Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday at 2 P. M. at the home.

FREDERICKSBURG, VA., May 15.-Mrs. Margaret E. Gordon, widow of the late A. J. Gordon, died Saturday at her home at Locust Dale, in Orange county, after an illness of several months.

                                          Death of Frederick D. Gleason.
Hampton, Va., July 5.-Frederick D. Gleason,  forty-one years old, for nineteen years the purchasing agent at the Hampton Normal School, dropped dead in the storeroom of the school today at noon. He was conversing with a traveling salesman, when he suddenly reeled and fell dead to the floor Mrs. Gleason and their three children are visiting in Chicago.

  ALEXANDRIA, VA., April 3.-Walter Scott Griffith, 60 years old, who resides below Franconia, Fairfax county, died last night. He was a printer by occupation, and was a native of Hagerstown, Md.

                                                    Sylvanus Gresham.
Fredericksburg, Va., May 21.--Sylvanus Gresham, formerly of King and Queen county, died yesterday at the residence of Rev. W. J. Decker, __(?) Orange county, aged ninety years. He is survived by his widow and two sons. The body was brought here today and sent to Richmond for interment in the family burying ground in Greenwood Cemetery. Mr. Gresham was a Confederate soldier, and was a member of the Home Guard of King and Queen county, which attacked Col. Dahlgren and his Federal troops when passing through King and Queen county, on their way to the gunboats on York River, after having been repulsed at Richmond, and Dahlgren himself was one of the number killed.

Mrs. Mollie Groom, wife of A. J. Groom, died suddenly at her residence, 611 West Cary Street, at 9 o'clock yesterday morning. The interment will be at Charlottesville at 1 P. M. Monday.

                                                       James J. Gray.
Norfolk, Va., January 3.-James J. Gray, aged forty-four years, who had been in charge ofthe Norfolk Weather Bureau since 1894, died last night at his home in Nansemond county. He had been in failing health for several months, and only recently returned from a Baltimore hospital, where his condition was pronounced to be hopeless. Mr. Gray had been connected with weather bureau stations on the Pacific coast and in other parts of the country.

CHARLOTTESVILLE, VA., April 4.-Miss Grace Phillips Gleason, twenty-two years old, daughter of Henry M. Gleason, one of the city's most prominent merchants and business men, died last night in her home on Ridge street. She had been ill for the past six months, and had only recently returned home from Asheville, N. C.

Mr. William E. Granger, Jr., died yesterday at the Memorial Hospital in the thirty-eighth year of his age.

                             Death of a Well-known Lady.
Mrs. Elizabeth Gentry died Monday night a 10 o'clock at the residence of her son, Mr. Richard Gentry, No. 1314 West Leigh street. Deceased was stricken with paralysis some weeks ago and never rallied. She had been a resident of this city for many years, and was the widow of the late Patrick H. Gentry. Mrs. Gentry was held in highest esteem by a large circle of friends. She leaves one son and three daughters, one of whom is the wife of Justice C. W. Tyler.

                               FUNERAL OF W. L. GEE
Washington Lafayette Gee, one of Petersburg's oldest citizens, died suddenly Thursday afternoon at 4 o'clock. Mr. Gee had reached the advanced age of 75 years and while his health had not been good for some time, his death was not expected.
He was a native of Amelia county, but for the past forty-two years had made his home in this city. He is survived by four sons; William __[?] Gee, of Norfolk; George W. and Freddie B. Gee, of Dinwiddie county, and D.Thomas Gee, of Chesterfield county.
The funeral was held yesterday afternoon at 4 'clock from the grave in Baindford* Cemetery Rev. J. Elmer Heara[?], pastor of Memorial M. E. Church, officiated, and the burial committee of Washington Council, No. 17, Jr. O.U.A.M., of which the deceased was a member, attended the funeral and served as pallbearers.

                                  EDDIE C. GILBERT,
  Mr. Eddie C. Gilbert, aged 27 years, died on Friday night at 10 o'clock at the Virginia Hospital. Mr. Gilbert's disease was appendicitis. He was in the employ of the Trigg Ship-Building Company; was a member of the Hasker-Memorial Methodist church, and was esteemed by all who knew him.
The funeral will take place this afternoon at 5 o'clock from the Union-Station church, Rev. R B. Beadles, pastor of the Hasker-Memorial, will conduct the service.

                              WILLIAM EMMETT GRINSTEAD
William Emmett Grinstead, 79, well-known citizen of Dinwiddie county, died yesterday afternoon at the home of Mrs. E. J. Olgers, a relative, at Poole's Siding. He was a son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Grinstead.
He is survived by one daughter, Miss Rebecca Grinstead, of Dinwiddie, and three brothers; Emmerson and Egbert Grinstead, both of Petersburg; and Eugene Grinstead, of Richmond.
Funeral services will be held this afternoon at 3 oclock at the grave in the Corinth M. E. church cemetery at Ford. The services will be conducted by the Rev. W. H. Rogers, pastor of Poole Christian church, assisted by the Rev. T. J. Simpson, pastor of the Corinth church.

                         GEORGE W. GILBERT BURIED.
Portsmouth, Va., Nov. 6.-Funeral services for George W. Gilbert, 80(?) years old, who died in the home of his daughter, Mrs. G. F. Williams, 40 Twenty-second street, South Norfolk, were conducted this afternoon, the burial being in Riverside cemetery.
